The number of Prison Offences during 1882 compares favourably with the previous year. viz:-
Cases Reported, discharged, Relieved, Punished Corporal

The Investigation was on 24th December last when there was a decrease by 50%. It seems to be that it will be sufficient if accommodation is provided in the first instance, instead of for 500 prisoners as recommended; provided that the plans are drawn so as to admit of further extension if necessary.
